By following these courses, the students will pick up how to install and set-up the VTD/8 gateway in their local network. The MMR mentor starts with a complete overview of the VTD/8 boards range, the specifications, differences and features. Next, you will learn how to configure each window in the 7-layer OSI model, how to set-up IP routes and IP hosts, and how to define VTD/8 Local Printers.
Finally, you will learn yourself how to add Users, Groups and Devices to the Extended User Table.
A basic network knowledge (TCP/IP, ISO/DSA, RFC1006, LAN, etc ...) is not required but recommended.
During the VTD/8 training, students learn to :
- install the gateway software and hardware
- understand the different server types and license categories
- configure the VTD/8 network layers (LAN,X25,TCPIP,RFC1006,DSA,NETBIOS,...)
- add Local Printers, IP Routes, IP Networks and IP Hosts
- configure Groups, Users, Devices, Profiles and Security Classes

These classes can be offered at your site and customized to your architecture and requirements. You can always combine these courses with the VTD/Amaril or VTD/Adular training.
