VTD/8 Gateways : User Interface
Full Windows interface
click image to zoom in The VTD/8 Tori software can be installed on any Windows 2003 / XP / 2000 computer. All dialog boxes, configuration windows, statistics, setup procedures and message boxes are displayed in a full Windows interface. The VTD/8 can run as a stand-alone application or as a Windows service that starts the gateway automatically after system boot-up.
Extended User Table
All Groups, Users and Devices are managed by the VTD/8 in the Extended User Table. This table is based on a dynamic list organized as a tree. The top level of this tree consists of a list of one or more Groups. By creating these Groups, the VTD/8 administrator will be able to organize his huge workstation group, but it also allows him to assign a Security Level to each Group.

click image to zoom in A Group can have one or several thousands of Users. The username can have a asterisk allowing any VGP session to connect to this Device, or can be a fixed name as it is defined on the workstation. For non-VGP connections, you can also use the IP address or IP hostname (for a Telnet workstation), the mailbox name (for a TCP/IP TNVIP workstation), the X.25 address or X.25 hostname (for a PAD workstation via Optimo boards) or the @ name (for a TCP/IP Telnet workstation).

Each User can have a list of five different pre-defined Device Families (DKU, VIP, 3270, MINITEL and ASYNC), and each Device Family can have a list of one or more Devices.
File Transfer Manager
In an architecture of heterogeneous systems, a user-friendly system is required which can use the different protocols specific to each system for the transfer of files. VTD/8 performs this role in a totally transparent way.
Statistics
click image to zoom in All layers in the ISO model on the VTD/8 have very detailed statistics. This constantly updating information can be extremely helpful in case of errors, unstable network situations, abnormal amount of broadcasts or user disconnects, etcetera. All counters can be set to zero with a single mouse click.
Print Link Manager
Printing from a central site is not always easy. In a network-computing context, VTD/8 brings a solution by relying both on the print services of the network servers and by printing on local printers. You benefit, therefore, from a very flexible system, which provides optimum reliability, even for configurations involving many users.
Administration via SNMP
Today, it is necessary to have a comprehensive and secure overview of the entire network. The private MIB of the VTD/8 gateway meets the demands of the network administrator in terms of performance and quality. VTD/8 offers you high system availability, avoids systems halts and thus reduces costs.
